Is Marijuana the same as Hemp?
Although they are derived from the same plant, their differences are significant. ‘Hemp’ is the term used for the food and fibres which are derived from the Cannabis plant. ‘Marijuana’ is cannabis which is grown to intensify the chemicals which release the euphoric ‘high’. Hemp is grown organically in contrast to marijuana which is usually grown in either high climates or indoors with close monitoring of their growth. Hemp has less than 0.5% psychoactive properties in comparison to Marijuana which usually contains an upward of 25% psychoactive properties.
